A few simple habits keep the directory useful, respectful and safe for everyone in Phoenix Park.
Business listings are provided for community convenience. Inclusion in this directory is not a recommendation, endorsement or guarantee. Residents are responsible for confirming prices, qualifications, availability and service arrangements before making a payment or entering an agreement.
Before you buy or book
Confirm the price, what is included, the timeline and the payment method directly with the business. Ask about licences, insurance or certification for trades such as electrical, plumbing, childcare, food preparation and personal care.
Meeting and delivery safety
Where possible, meet in a well-lit, public part of the community during daylight hours. Let someone know where you are going. If a service is delivered at your home, arrange a time when another adult is present.
Paying safely
Avoid large upfront payments to a business you have not used before. Keep a written record of what was agreed, whether by message or receipt. Be cautious of pressure to pay quickly or off-platform.
Protecting your address
For your privacy and security, do not include your house number or exact residential address in your business description, flyer or photographs.
For business owners
Keep prices, hours and availability accurate. Respond to enquiries courteously, even when you cannot take the job. Do not use photographs or wording that belong to someone else, and never publish another resident’s details without their permission.
Reporting a problem
Every listing has a “Report This Listing” option. Use it for incorrect information, closed businesses, inappropriate content, privacy concerns or a suspected scam. The administrator reviews every report and may suspend a listing while it is investigated.
Emergencies
The directory is not an emergency service. In an emergency contact the Jamaica Constabulary Force at 119 or emergency medical services at 110.
